A Step Ahead of the Fall is pre-apocalyptic adventure story. It follows four groups of characters as they attempt to deal with the repercussions of the devastating Z-pathogen. There is the Wallace family, headed by a now vindicated 'conspiracy theorist' who was drummed out of the intelligence services for going against the prevailing orthodoxy. A group soldiers trying to hold back the spread of the virus, and a group of scientists racing against time to provide hope. They are each pitted against a fourth group, the deep-state, who are already resigned to the fact that the virus is unstoppable. With singular focus they intend on implementing their 'Continuation of Government' protocols, at the expense of all other considerations. Their stories become intertwined as they combat each other. Some are motivated by revenge, others by a sense of the great good and others to preserve Liberty for the future, if there is one. At its core, it's about family, ethics and the nature of government.
