A method for the routine quantitative determination of the major serotonin metabolite 5-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid (5-HIAA) in urine is described. 5-HIAA was analyzed without prior sample cleanup, using an automated high-performance liquid chromatography system with isocratic elution and electroche
