โœฆ Synopsis

In this paper, we formulate an optimal cost design problem of a constrained allowable normal stress, shearing stress, the dimension of a welded beam and the bar deflection as a nonlinear programming (NP) problem and solve it directly by keeping the nonlinear constraint based on genetic algorithms (GA). We discuss the etticency of the propose method.

A unified framework is presented for the numerical solution of optimal control problems using collocation at Legendre-Gauss (LG), Legendre-Gauss-Radau (LGR), and Legendre-Gauss-Lobatto (LGL) points. It is shown that the LG and LGR differentiation matrices are rectangular and full rank whereas the LG
