✦ Synopsis
The Raman optical activity (ROA) spectrum of ( + )-( 3R)-methylcyclohexanone from 150 to 1400 cm-' measured using a novel ROA spectrometer is reported. The spectrometer features a Soleil-Babinet compensator to produce high-quality circularly polarized laser radiation. The principal ROA couplets are assigned and interpreted in terms of pairs of coupled vibrational motions.
