The effects of radiation impedance on the acoustical output of a sound source are often dismissed or overshnplified. This paper addresses the effects of geometJ T on the radiation impedance of disc, cone and dome piston sources, by developing a geometrical model which can be easily implemented on a Personal Computer. The technique is found to be accurate for the disc, but h~itial attempts to extend the model to the non-planar sources demonstrate that the effects of reflections across the surface must be included. However, results at high .frequencies indicate that such modifications wouM be worthwhile.
