Within minutes of arriving to her new house, Olivia meets the town crazy and the police show up to take him away. The day is just getting started though as she then finds a dog wagging its tail at her. As a cat person, this isn't what she expected to find. There's now a dog in the new house and guess who has to take care of it?
To top it all off, Olivia is scared half to death by a plastic skeleton hanging in the pantry closet.
In other words - she's not having a great time in her new town of Whispers Horizon.

Well... the next morning, the skeleton that had been hanging in the closet has been replaced with a body!

Now her new house is a crime scene. The police are back, along with an annoying yet good looking detective who seems to know everything about Olivia's past and can't help himself from making tongue-in-cheek comments about Olivia being the murderer. This leaves Olivia feeling like she has no choice - she has to solve this murder herself.

With the help of new friends in a new town, Olivia learns how to navigate through the craziness of the people, the gossip, and perhaps the best pancakes she's ever tasted. Time is not her friend. If the murderer isn't caught soon, Halloween is going to be cancelled. Oh, and another body is discovered on Olivia's property. Her house is a target, and soon she might be the next one.
