✦ Synopsis

Proteins ranging in molecular weight from 90.000 to 15,000 daltons were studied by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) at pH 4.6. The results showed a linear relationship between log molecular weight and relative electrophoretic mobility. The simplicity and reliability of the method offer an alternative means of determination of molecular weights of a wide variety of proteins by gel electrophoresis.
