✦ Synopsis

A simptc, rxzct equation whick csprrsscs ;i fund~menIai relations~lip bctwen the electronicg tensor and the nuclear magnetic shlclding tensor is obtained for a one-electron system. This equation is used to predict new numerical values for the components of thcg tensor for Hs.

The nuclear magnetic shieldin:: tensor u and the electronicg tensor are quantities well known in magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The purposes of this letter are (1) to point out an exact, simple relationship between u and g for a one-electron atom or molecule in an orbitally non-degenerate state, and (2) to use this relationship to predict new numerical values for the components of the ,o 'tensor for the h'$ molecule4on.

Precise frequencies for the 1 11 -2 02 transition of 33 SO 2 and SO 17 O in natural isotopic abundance have been obtained near 12 GHz by microwave Fourier transform spectroscopy in order to yield improved hyperfine constants. Nuclear spin-rotation coupling constants have been determined experimental
