Abstract

The handling of small tissue biopsy samples (<100 μl) for NMR investigations poses special problems. Optimal and stable positioning of the samples within the sensitive volume of the radiopfrequency coil can be achieved by inserting the sample in a capillary. Methods for quantitation of the spectral information from samples requiring histological evaluation after the NMR experiment are discussed, in particular with respect to cervical biopsies.
