✦ Synopsis

A new method for the assessment of the half-lives of short-lived radionuclides is proposed. This method depends on the calculation of half-life using the total counts in two counting periods where the second period includes the first one. The proposed formula for calculation is simple and easy to use especially in the case that the value of the first counting period is equal to half the second.
