✦ Synopsis

A simple approach is presented to the difficult problem of coupled panel-cavity vibrations with special reference to the sonic boom excitation of large window-room combinations. Certain simplifying assumptions can be made for this practical situation which allow of an analysis which takes into account two in ractto window modes and a cavity with a stiff impedance. The results obtained are compared with similar results of various authors and with experimental results.
