β¦ Synopsis
A simplified three-dimensional analytical model is developed in order to simulate the effect of preferential doping along grain boundaries on the photoresponse of columnar-oriented fine-grain polycrystalline diffused solar cells. The preferential doping is known to create deep vertical junctions adjacent to the grain boundaries which improve the collection probability of photogenerated carriers. The proposed model is based on an appropriate choice of the collection probabilities for both the surface and the vertical junctions. Calculations of the photoresponse and its dependence on the preferential doping are performed in order to determine the conditions under which the preferential doping becomes electrically active.

## Abstract A simple mathematical model for calculating the effective thermal conductivity of nanofluids has been developed based on the thermal resistance approach. The model is developed by considering both effects of a solidβlike nanolayer and convective heat transfer caused by Brownian motion w
