✦ Synopsis

Abstract

In this article, a semicircular band‐notch monopole antenna based on CSRR with band‐notch function is presented. A rectangular slit is cut at the top center of the ground to obtain desired operation frequency bandwidth, and a complementary split‐ring resonator is embedded in feed line to realize band‐notch function. Experiment results show that the proposed antenna has a sharp stop‐band of 4.89 GHz–6.12 GHz and one ultra‐wideband from 2 GHz to 12 GHz. During operated frequency band, the proposed antenna exhibits excellent radiation characteristics. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel and compact ultra‐wideband (UWB) printed monopole antenna with extended band‐notched designs is presented. The antenna with a total size of 20 mm × 35 mm operates in a band from 3 to over 11 GHz (VSWR ≤ 2), and shows omnidirectional radiation with a low cross‐polarization in the

## Abstract Two printed ultra‐wideband (UWB) elliptical antennas are proposed. The first antenna is a printed elliptical antenna with notch cut fed by a microstrip line. It is designed and fabricated for UWB applications under the band (3.1–10.6 GHz). To obtain sufficient matching bandwidth, a part
