✦ Synopsis
Transient absorption on flash excitation at 308 nm is reported for a K,SO, crystal doped with C&.
T'he multi-exponential decay and Its temperature dependence, between 6 and 125 K, support the assi~ment to a metastable triplet state of the CrOj-ion with a fastest decay constant of 200 ns. An experiment on LiCl0,.3H,O doped with MnO; gave a negative result with'the present time resolutidn of 30 ns.
