✦ Synopsis

A rapid method, suitable for the recovery of ammonia, urea, and a-amino N for "N-isotopic analysis from biological fluids is described. The method, using a cationic-exchange resin to bind ammonia from neutral solution, has been adapted to allow the subsequent direct release of molecular N for isotopic analysis. The resin method has proved to be highly reproducible, more rapid and less demanding than classical procedures, amenable to convenient sample storage and transportation, and should find ready application in the preparation of clinical, agricultural, and geochemical samples that require 15N analysis.

## Abstract During the evaluation of a pretreatment method for the simultaneous quantification of four amyloid __Ξ²__‐protein fragments in transgenic mice plasma by a new gradient system, we have found that acetic acid has potency to completely dissolve plasma polypeptides in the presence of an orga
