✦ Synopsis

The synthesis of 2,5,l-benzoxazasilepines 3 or the benzoxazasilaspiro compound 4, has been achieved by the reaction of o-lithio-N-(2-1ithiooxyethyl)-N-methyl-aniline (2) with R2SiC12 (R = Me, Et, Ph) or SiCI 4, respectively. The reaction led to the formation of cyclic products, even under conditions favorable for the formation of polymeric materials.
