A reciprocity relation between the far"eld behaviour of the scattered "elds generated by incident waves, either #exural plate waves, or incident from the #uid, upon rigid defects embedded in a thin elastic, #uid-loaded, plate is derived. This reciprocity result is then illustrated upon model problems for which the explicit solution can be determined and the relation demonstrated.
