A number of gas cllromntographic (GC) methods for the analysis of the methyl ester of osalic acid in l~iological mntcrinls have hen reportedl-4. However, clifliculties in sample treatments : cg., isolation, estraction, esterification and filtrntion procedures have hen encountered. Enzym&icfi~~l, fluoromctric', and colori-metricW procedures arc sensitive but require extra sample manipulation and care.

This pqxx presents a simple and rapid GC procedure for quantit;ltive analysis of osalic acid in forage, blond, feed, and urine.
