โฆ Synopsis
A simple, rapid and sensitive method for the determination of phosphorylethanolamine in the range of 2 to 12 nmol is described. The method is highly specific and as such can be used directly on perchloric acid extracts of tissue, eliminating the need for the preliminary concentration of the extracts and separation procedures required by previous methods. CTP:phosphorylethanolamine cytidylyltransferase (EC 2.7.7.14) required for the assay is partially purified from rat liver post-microsomal supematant by a one step gel filtration technique.
