The night doesn't go as planned when Lissianna takes a romantic liking to the good doctor. Worse, the clan has trouble controlling his ''strong mind'' and erasing his memory of the family, putting their secret in jeopardy. Though the love scenes hit an erotic high note, the quick courtship between Lissianna and Greg is serviceable at best, and the first half of the thin plot moves like molasses as Lissianna explains... and explains... to Greg how the vampire race operates. In addition, lines like ''They were all looking just as blank as she felt'' can make for a clunky read.
