The paper contains a translation of the Russian note [i] together with several remarks on more recent investigations of the same generator.

In [1], a pseudo-random number generator proposed in [2] was tested with a set of tests different from those applied in [2]. It turned out that initial values for the generator should not be chosen at random. Good initial values were found. (~
