A method which uses 1-naphthylisocyanate as an HPLC precolumn derivatization reagent for amino acid analysis is described. Derivatization is carried out by adding the isocyanate dissolved in dry acetone to a buffered amino acid solution followed by extraction of the excess reagent with cyclohexane.

A rapid sensitive method for the quantification of in vitro HIV-protease activity has been developed on the basis of the endoproteolytic conversion of N-Dns-SQ-NYPIV to N-Dns-SQNY. The use of the N-dansyl group as a fluorescence label was shown to not significantly alter the apparent kinetic paramet

## Abstract HPLC was coupled with sequential injection (SI) for simultaneous analyses of some heavy metals, including Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Fe(II). 2‐(5‐Nitro‐2‐pyridylazo)‐5‐[__N__‐propyl‐__N__‐(3‐sulfopropyl)amino]phenol (nitro‐PAPS) was employed as a derivatizing reagent for sensitive spec
