In conclusion, it is possible to say that while the Cuban government is benefiting from the success and growth of the Cuban tourism industry, the Cuban people are seeing the loss of many of the benefits gained at the beginning of their revolution. Major changes in policy by the Cuban government are needed to reverse what appear to be long-term trends of social and environmental decline associated with the growing international tourism industry in Cuba.
