✦ Synopsis
Risk analysis approaches have long been used in the context of financial or engineering problems, but to date has little impact on more general business-related problems. This paper is a result of a two-year research project commissioned by the UK's Royal Navy's Naval Manning Agency, with particular reference to risk analysis within the manpower planning system. The paper develops a general approach to risk analysis more suited to business problems and presents the results generated by the research project.
