## Abstract A stacked patch configuration has been demonstrated experimentally as a feasible solution to enhance the bandwidth of a microstrip antenna, but little information on the design procedure is available. A design scheme based on a simple network model is presented. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons

Abstract
The aperture‐coupled stacked‐microstrip antenna (ACSMA) is an important type of broadband microstrip antenna. A simple and practical procedure for its design is presented in this letter. Utilizing the technique, one ACSMA of L‐band has been designed. The experiments have been carried out and the measurement results verified the applicability of the method. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
