โœฆ Synopsis

An a priori local error estimator for one-step implicit time-stepping schemes of Padeร‚ type is presented; such algorithms are widely used in structural dynamics. The proper time step h to be done can be calculated by matching a given local accuracy. The numerical process to evaluate h is straightforward and explicit. A simple example shows some signiยฎcant features of the method presented.

A simple (I posteriori local error estimator for time discretization in structural dynamic analysis is presented. It is derived from the difference of the solutions between an ordinary integration method (the Newmark scheme) and another higher-order one which assumes that the derivatives of accelera
