โœฆ Synopsis

To test superconducting wire for critical current a smooth current ramp is necessary. Variations in the wire current result in erratic voltage traces, which are at the microvolt level, and make it difficult to define the superconducting to normal transition point. Programming of the wire current supply is possible by voltage or resistance. The latter method however, while simpler is less desirable due to noise generated by the potentiometer wiper. The voltage programming circuit described here produces a smooth waveform of easily adjustable duration and amplitude.
