Even the most casual reader couldn't fail to notice this month's heavy emphasis on positive displacement pumping. We've got extensive treatment of phmger and piston pump selection and operation, of pulsation dampening techniques, and of system effects in PD pump systems. Hell, we've even devoted the front cover to it. Such fanfare, however, is unlikely to dispel the lingering impression that positive displacement pumping tends unfairly to play second fiddle to the centrifugal branch of the art-form.
