β¦ Synopsis
A portable skin-temperature recorder has been constructed and used to study knee and ankle joints of patients for two or three hours after hydrotherapy. To obtain meaningful temperature records it was found necessary to control (and log) positions and movements during the whole period. This communication is primarily an account of the design, construction and programming of the recorder which is built around a microprocessor and uses thermistors. A BBC microcomputer programs the recorder and extracts the measured data from it.

By using a symmetrical arrangement of electrodes (Fig. 1 c) it was also possible to make good silver-silver joints by partially melting two wires together. These joints again were mechanically strong but there was found to be a reduction of the rrr of the silver at the joint. As this reduction was o
The 24-h ambulatory systolic blood pressure (ASBP) recording has become a helpful tool in the diagnosis of hypertension and evaluation of the efficiency of anti-hypertensive drugs. Yet, the very high variability of ASBP makes the analysis of the recording rather difficult. A potential solution to re
