β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
The combustion zones of doublebase propellant strands and their dependence on pressure were studied by different photographic techniques to get new information on the action of ballistic modifiers. Photos of short exposure time were taken from the foam, dark and flame zones. The extinguished burning surface was studied by optical and scanning electron microscopes. A detailed picture on the production of carbonaceous material on the burning surface was obtained.

The burning rate of a hot double-base homogeneous solid propellant is modeled by the numerical solution of the conservation equations characterizing the primary flame using a global kinetic scheme. The increase of the burning rate above the solid surface is modeled by an enhancement of the heat tran
## Abstract The effect of lead and copper methylene disalicylates and their mixtures was studied on the burning rates (35 kg/cm^2^β140 kg/cm^2^), heat of explosion, stability and thermal decomposition of doubleβbase propelants. The results indicate that these salts are very effective catalyst and t
