β¦ Synopsis
Among various carbcnyl compounds which will undergo photochemical reactions with simple olefins to give oxetanes, 9-anthraldehyde is especially interesting in its behavior.
Although it has a low-lying rr,n+ triplet state, it reacts with simple olefins to form oxetanes in appreciable quantum yields.
