β¦ Synopsis
The major climatic regions of the United States Citrus Belt are discussed. The influences of the environmental differences on the length of fruit-crop years for Valencia oranges are related. Climatic differences can produce major differences in the length of the fruit-crop year and associated rates of fruit maturity. Quantitative changes in the composition of the essential rind oils are associated with stages of fruit maturity. Edaphic and climatic factors showed negligible changes in the rind oils if the samples compared were of comparable maturity stages.
