โœฆ Synopsis

A novel spectral element technique is examined in which the test functions are different from the approximating elements. Examples are given for a simple 1-D Helmholtz equation, Burger's Equation with a small viscosity, and for Darcy's Equation with a discontinuous hydraulic conductivity.

The mathematical base of the double porosity concept, consisting of the continuity and equilibrium equation respectively, is briefly reviewed. A quasi-steady-state transfer function, the so-called leakage term, is used. Important aspects of the developed code, based on the double porosity theory, ar
