✦ Synopsis
Long bones with a prominent endosteal trabecular pattern, particularly the 'herringbone' configuration, when immobilized, will demineralize in a striking ' s p o t t y ' pattern which may simulate neoplastic permeative replacement of bone. The recognition of this phenomenon will obviate needless concern and investigation.
