โœฆ Synopsis

In this paper the problem of recognizing a black curve in a noisy environment using a multiprocessor system is investigated. A dynamic programming parallel algorithm which can solve that image processing problem is presented. It is shown that, under hypothesis of unbounded parallelism and using a simple parallel architecture, the algorithms convergence can be obtained in a number of steps which is proportional to the length of the curve. The extension of the algorithm to the case of bounded parallelism is presented.

Based on the log-normal assumption, parallel model combination (PMC) provides an effective method to adapt the cepstral means and variances of speech models for noisy speech recognition. In addition, the log-add method has been derived to adapt the mean by ignoring the cepstral variance during the p
