✦ Synopsis

A new parabolic equation (PE) incorporating a simple terrain following transformation is derived which allows a range dependent solution for the fieldfrom a point or line radiator. Predictions with the generalised terrain-PE are in close agreement with those from an eflective barrier model for a simple hill taken as a test case.
