✦ Synopsis


In the title compound, [Zn(C 8 H 3 NO 6 )(C 3 H 4 N 2 ) 2 ] n , each Zn II atom is four-coordinated and bridged by a 5-nitrobenzene-1,3dicarboxylate ligand to form a one-dimensional herring-bone chain. Interchain hydrogen bonds connect the chains to produce a two-dimensional double-sheet layer. In the crystal structure, all double-sheet layers are stabilized via interlayer interactions between adjacent benzene rings.
