A hybrid finite difference and vortex method (HFDV), based on the domain decomposition method (DDM), is used for calculating the flow around a rotating circular cylinder at Reynolds number Re= 1000, 200 and the angular-to-rectilinear speed ratio h (0.5, 3.25) respectively. A fully implicit third-ord
