โฆ Synopsis
The boundary element method is used to calculate the free field correction for the standard microphones Brรผel and Kjรฆr types 4160 and 4180 . The calculations are compared to very accurate measurements made at The Acoustics Laboratory at the Technical University of Denmark. In order to obtain the desired high accuracy the movement of the diaphragm of the microphone had to be taken into account by the means of a coupled structural-acoustic model. The coupled problem is solved by means of a new iterative procedure.
