## Abstract A novel variable optical attenuator (VOA) based on highโ€birefringence (HiBi) fiberโ€loop mirror is proposed. The HiBi fiberโ€loop mirror is put into the temperatureโ€controlling box. As the temperature increases, the transmission spectrum shifts with nearly unaltered shape. The attenuation
