β¦ Synopsis
HgS and PbS nanoparticles of about 15 and 20 nm in size have been prepared by the sonochemical irradiation of an ethylenediamine solution of elemental S and mercury acetate or lead acetate under air. The nanoparticles are characterized using techniques such as transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, absorption spectroscopy, di4use re6ection spectroscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis.
