## Abstract A new class of acidic glycans isolated from marine sponges and sea urchin embryos was shown to mediate cell adhesion via carbohydrate–carbohydrate interactions. Cell aggregation blocking monoclonal antibodies (Block 1 and Block 2 mAbs) directed against these polysaccharides localized fu
