## Abstract A novel variable optical attenuator (VOA) based on high‐birefringence (HiBi) fiber‐loop mirror is proposed. The HiBi fiber‐loop mirror is put into the temperature‐controlling box. As the temperature increases, the transmission spectrum shifts with nearly unaltered shape. The attenuation
