β¦ Synopsis
This paper analyzes and optimizes a new design four-fin radiating array in which the horizontaljins have a rectangular profile and the verticalJim can have either a rectangular or triangular profile. The optimum dimensions of the fins are obtained and the results are presented in an extremely simple algebraic form which is very convenient for use by thermal designers. Comparisons are made between the conventional two-fin array and the proposed optimum design of the,four-fin array. It is found that the latter saves about 30% in material ftir a typical emissivity of' the radiative$ns. B. T. F. Chung and B. X.
