✦ Synopsis

This paper analyzes and optimizes a new design four-fin radiating array in which the horizontaljins have a rectangular profile and the verticalJim can have either a rectangular or triangular profile. The optimum dimensions of the fins are obtained and the results are presented in an extremely simple algebraic form which is very convenient for use by thermal designers. Comparisons are made between the conventional two-fin array and the proposed optimum design of the,four-fin array. It is found that the latter saves about 30% in material ftir a typical emissivity of' the radiative$ns. B. T. F. Chung and B. X. A novel monopulse antenna for a tracking radar system is proposed using the time modulated antenna array technique. The time modulation technique applied in the antenna arrays overcomes the usual need for compromise between sum and difference beams and avoids the need for implementation of two separ

## Abstract The antenna system for a dedicated short‐range communication (DSRC) system must have pattern characteristics that satisfy the system's specifications. Also, the antenna system needs to have good space efficiency for mounting on a roadside base station. The proposed antenna has the trave
