Conventional feedback schemes for available bit rate traffic in asynchronous transfer mode networks require many network parameter settings and use a fixed rate increment regardless of network load level. Determining and setting optimal parameters is a complex and difficult task. A fixed rate increm
In an A T M network, congestion controls as well as traffic controls, e.g., call admission control and policing control, are important to efficiently transmit multimedia traffic while satisfying their different required grade+fservices. This paper analyzes a congestion control scheme required for A
## An Effective Congestion Control Scheme for ATM Networks Congestion control is considered one of the most challenging issues of ATM. Simulation results are presented which show the performance superiority of the proposed scheme as compared to the conventional leaky bucket scheme.
This article presents a novel approach to ATM congestion control for ABR (Allowed Bit Rate) service. This approach can achieve a desired fair link utilization using adaptive filters to prevent both network collapse and the 'beat down' problem.
