✦ Synopsis

A novel broadband magic-T for microwave integrated circuits (MICs) is described. It consists of a microstrip T-junction and a slotline T-junction. The microstrip T-junction is constructed on one side of a substrate, and the slotline T-junction is on the opposite side. They are electrically coupled via two conventional microstrip-slotline transitions, which are arranged to be close to the slotline T-junction, so that its configuration is very compact. The magic-T is investigated experimentally and the measured result shows that it has an operation bandwidth of more than an octave.

## Abstract A novel ultra‐wide band bandpass filter with notched band is presented.Multi‐mode resonator is realized using a stepped‐impedance slotline. The resonator is orthogonally coupled to the microstrip feed lines, and ultra‐wide passband is obtained. Microstrip open loop resonators are loaded
