✦ Synopsis
A Buckminsterfullerene (Cbo)-modified graphite-PTFE composite electrode was prepared by pelletizing a powder mixture of 10 YO CSO, 30 % graphite, and 60 % PTFE (by weight). Multicyclic voltammetry of the electrode in acetonitrile solution of tetra-n-butyhmmonium perchlorate shows reproducible, two-step, c6() charging and discharging, in the potential range for which only the first two, i.e., CZi-and electroreductions occur. This behavior favorably compares to that reported earlier for the CSo solid films, in the same solution. The composite electrode is recommended as a convenient tool for investigation of the solid-state electrochemistry of fullerenes.
