β¦ Synopsis
Identification of universally optimal row-column designs is investigated. This paper shows that Kunert's (1993) examples of universally optimal generalized non-binary designs are not special cases. One can construct an universally optimal generalized non-binary design by use of a binary one.

We present a method for the construction of universally optimal b 1 Γ b 2 row-column design with some empty nodes. The proposed method yields structurally balanced universally optimal designs for v treatments when v = mk + 1 is an odd prime or prime power number with even k ΒΏ 2. The construction tec
Block designs with nested rowsand columns have been introduced by SINGE and DEY (1979). This note gives some results regarding the total relative loss of information and patterns of efficiency balanced block designs with nested rows and columns in variable replications of treatments.
