✦ Synopsis

The transient response of a free surface to an oscillatory impulsive pressure distribution over a fixed domain is examined. The integral transform representation of the surface displacement is evaluated by the method of stationary phase, and is shown to reduce to the unit impulse result in the appropriate limit.
