In this paper we discuss the spaces containing a subspace having the Arens' space or sequential fan as its sequential coreflection. A sequential coreflection of a space which is weakly first-countable is characterized, and some generalized metric spaces which contain no Arens' space or sequential fan as its sequential coreflection are studied. 0 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
